A cassette recording of the March 5, 2002 California State Voter Information Guide is now available from the Santa Cruz County Elections Department for voters who are visually impaired.

There are tapes featuring information on State Propositions 40 through 45. The following information is provided for each of the measures: the official title and summary, the impartial analysis prepared by the Legislative Analyst, the arguments for and against the measures, and the rebuttals to these arguments. Also provided is an overview of the state’s bond debt, descriptions of statewide offices and statewide office candidate statements.

Voters may either borrow the two tapes from the Elections Department, or an additional set can be ordered from the Secretary of State's Office for the voter to keep. The tapes are playable on any commercially available tape recorder, as well as on the special Talking Book recorders. The tapes are beep-tone indexed for easy access to information.
