VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT EARLY RETURNS: Results released soon after 8 p.m.

PRECINCT RESULTS:

Precinct ballots typically start coming in around 10 p.m. It can take until after 1 to 2 a.m. to process all of the precinct ballots on election night. Updates to the website will be made as soon as possible. Accuracy is more important than speed, so we will take the time, care and consideration necessary to count ballots accurately.

RESULTS BY PHONE:

Telephones will be staffed throughout the night for callers to phone in and obtain results. CALL 831-454-2060.

Election results by contest are simple to provide over the phone. However, if you are interested in obtaining more specific voting result information, we encourage you to be present at the Elections Department.

SEMI-OFFICIAL RESULTS:

Once the last ballot is counted, a Semi-Official Election Summary Report will be available from the County Clerk/Elections Department. It will also be posted on our web site. A precinct-by-precinct report will be available the next afternoon.

An estimated number of the remaining vote-by-mail ballots and provisional ballots to be counted during the canvass will be available from the Elections Department the day after the election. An exact number will be available within 7 days following the election.

FINAL RESULTS:

The official canvass of ballots will begin Wednesday, November 5. The law provides 28 calendar days to complete the canvass.
