Santa Cruz County Elections February 5, 2008 Presidential Primary Notice of Measure to be Voted On & Deadline for Filing Arguments |

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District (the "District") located in the County of Santa Cruz, State of California, that in accordance with applicable law, an election will be held on Tuesday, the 5th day of February, 2008, in the District at which election there will be submitted to the voters the question of issuing and selling bonds of said District in the amount of not to exceed Eighteen Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($18,900,000) in accordance with the actions relating thereto taken by the Board of Trustees of the District. All of the purposes enumerated herein are hereby united and shall be voted upon as one single proposition. The bonds proposed to be issued and sold shall bear interest at a rate not exceeding the statutory maximum of twelve percent (12%) per annum. The number of years the whole or any part of the bonds are to run shall not exceed the statutory maximum, which is forty (40) years. Each qualified elector of the District shall be entitled to vote only in the District election precinct of which he/she is a resident. The electors in the District shall vote on the following measure on February 5, 2008:
Friday, November 2, 5 p.m. is hereby fixed as the final date on which arguments for or against the above measure may be filed. Arguments for or against the measure must be filed with the County Clerk/Elections Department , 701 Ocean St., Room 210, Santa Cruz, CA 95060-4076 for printing and distribution to the voters as provided by law. Arguments may not exceed 300 words in length. Guidelines on writing arguments are available by calling 831-454-2060 or by visiting the County Clerk/Elections Departments website at www.votescount.com Each argument must be filed with a Signature Statement mandated by law. PURSUANT TO ELECTIONS CODE §12109, notice is also hereby given that the Santa Cruz County Clerk/Elections Department will be the central counting place for ballots cast at the election.
