By the November 2006 election, a touchscreen voting machine will be available at every polling site along with a new paper ballot system that will allow voters to correct any ballot error prior to casting their ballots.

ow To Vote using the Touchscreen
Voting is easy
on the new AVC Edge touchscreens. The election officer will give you a Voter
Card that you will insert into the yellow slot on the lower left corner of the
machine. Using the touch screen, you will be able to select your language,
English or Spanish. The touchscreen also
provides for an audio voting feature and a hand-held control for persons who
are visually impaired or disabled.
Using the
touchscreen or the hand-held control, you will make your vote selections from
each category with opportunity to review or change your choices. You will be
notified if you have not made all the choices you are entitled to.
When all vote
selections have been made, you will be able to cast your ballot and review the
voter verified paper audit trail.
That's it! You
will then remove the Voter Card and return it to the election officer. The
machine will automatically get ready for the next voter.

El Condado de Santa Cruz ha comprado el Sistema de

6 de junio de 2006 en la Secretaría del Condado/Departamento de Elecciones, la
Secretaría de la Ciudad de Watsonville y en urnas electorales selectas el día

ómo usar la pantalla sensitiva al tacto
Votar es fácil en una de las nuevas pantallas
sensitivas al tacto AVC Edge. El funcionario de elecciones le dará una Tarjeta

de la computadora. Al usar la pantalla sensitiva, podrá seleccionar el idioma,
inglés y español. La pantalla sensitiva también provee una característica de
audio para votar y un control de mano para personas con problemas o
discapacidades de vista.
Con el uso de pantalla sensitiva o el control de
mano, podrá efectuar sus selecciones de voto de cada categoría con oportunidad
para revisar o cambiar sus selecciones. Se le avisará si no hizo todas las
selecciones a la que tiene derecho.
Una vez que haya hecho todas las selecciones de
voto, podrá emitir su balota y revisar el registro de papel comprobante para el
votante.
¡Eso es todo! Removerá la Tarjeta de votante y
regresará al funcionario de elecciones. La computadora automáticamente estará
lista para el siguiente votante.
