Special Election for May 3, 2005
Resolution was adopted authorizing an all mail ballot special
election to be held on May 3, 2005 for the registered voters residing within CSA 11M to
vote on a measure to authorize the levying of a special tax of $98.00 per residential unit
effective July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2035.

Closing date for registration in this election.
The county elections official shall accept an affidavit of registration
executed as part of a voter registration card in the forthcoming election if the affidavit
is executed on or before the 15th day prior to the election, and if any of the following
apply:
1) The affidavit is postmarked on or before the 15th day prior to the
election and received by mail by the county elections official.
2) The affidavit is submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles or
accepted by any other public agency designated as a voter registration agency pursuant to
the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (42 U.S.C. Sec. 1973gg) prior to the election.
3) The affidavit is delivered to the county elections official by means
other than those described in paragraphs (2) and (3) on o before the 15th day prior to the
election.

as a ballot return center or to assist voters who may require a second ballot.

the number of voters in this election, the certified statement of the vote should be ready
soon after Election Day, May 3.

Statement of Vote on Board of
Supervisors Agenda
The elections official shall prepare a certified statement of
results of the election and submit it to the Board of Supervisors and mail a copy to each
school district.

Recount May be Requested
Within five (5) days after the completion of the official canvass,
any voter may request a recount by filing a written request with the Elections Official
and specifying which measure is to be recounted.
The request may specify the order of the precincts for the recount, and the petitioning
voter shall, before commencement of each days recount, deposit such sum as the
official requires to cover the costs (approximately $500 per day).
"Completion of the canvass" shall be presumed to be the time when the
elections official signs the certified statement of vote.

Document Retention Rosters of voters and indexes will be preserved for five years following
the date of the election (until May 3, 2010)

Ballots, absentee ballot identification envelopes, spoiled ballots,
canceled ballots, unused ballots and ballot receipts will be preserved for six months
following the date of the election (November 3, 2005).
