Printing Error Found in Sample Ballot Mailed to 6,000 Voters
Santa Cruz County elections officials learned Wednesday of a printing error in the November 7, 2006 Sample Ballot and Voter’s Information Pamphlet mailed to 6,000 voters in the 14th Congressional District who reside in portions of Happy Valley, Soquel, Bonny Doon, Live Oak and Los Gatos.
The ballots for the voters are correct. However, the Sample Ballot page features the 17th Congressional District instead of the 14th Congressional District. All other contests in the Sample Ballot are correct. The correct Sample Ballot pages are being mailed to the voters in the next few days and are identified with a notice that reads: “Urgent Corrected Election Material.”
The correct Sample Ballot and Voter’s Information Pamphlet will be online at www.votescount.com by Sunday, October 8. For more information, please call the Santa Cruz County Clerk’/Elections Department at 831-454-2060.
