Cassette Recording of State Pamphlet Available

A cassette recording of the November 7, 2000 California State Voter Information Guide is now available from the Santa Cruz County Elections Department for voters who are visually impaired.

There are tapes featuring information on State Propositions 32 through 39.

The following information is provided for each of the measures: the official title and summary, the impartial analysis prepared by the Legislative Analyst, the arguments for and against the measures, and the rebuttals to these arguments.

Voters may either borrow the tapes from the Elections Department, or an additional set can be ordered from the Secretary of State's Office for the voter to keep. Voters may either call the Elections Department to order a tape or call or write the Secretary of State, Elections Division, 1500 11th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 or call 916-657-2166.

The tapes are playable on any commercially available tape recorder, as well as on the special Talking Book recorders. The tapes are beep-tone indexed for easy access to information.

The City of Santa Cruz has also created cassette-recorded versions of their two measures on the November 7, 2000 ballot: Measure T, the district election measure, and Measure U, the transient occupancy tax measure. These tapes may be borrowed only, individual copies are not available.
