Santa Cruz County Elections

November 5,2002 General Election

Congressional & Legislative Districts
In Santa Cruz County

Due to Redistricting in 2002, lines have been changed.

However, the new lines do not become effective until a candidate is elected to the new district boundaries and takes office.

The Congressional & Assembly seats are up for election in 2002; therefore, the new district boundaries will be in effect when Assemblymembers take office in December 2002 and Congressmembers take office in January 2003.

However, both the 11th and 15th State Senate Districts are not up for election until 2004. Therefore, boundaries from the 1992 redistricting remain in effect until a candidate is elected to the new district boundaries and takes office in December 2004.

The following district information may include both the old and new districts, depending on which included or will include Santa Cruz County.
