Accessible Voting at Home
Remote Accessible Vote-by-Mail (RAVBM)
Santa Cruz County has a program to allow voters with disabilities to vote remotely from their home computers. Due to COVID-19 that service is now being offered to all voters.
The Santa Cruz County uses Dominion Voting Systems Remote Accessible Vote-by-Mail (RAVBM) to provide this service. The Accessible Vote by Mail system allows voters to download and mark their ballot privately and independently using their own technology or assistive technology, print their marked ballot, and return it to the Elections Office to be counted.
Voters must request this service by Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Access your ballot
We will email you a Voter Access Code to access your ballot.
You can then access and mark your ballot using the link emailed to you.
Prepare your ballot
Once you have completed voting your ballot, print it, fold it, and insert it in the return envelope we sent you or you may use any envelope you have available.
Sign your return envelope
If you are using the envelope we sent you, sign the envelope in the signature box. It is located between the two holes in the envelope.
To the right of the hole on your right, you can print your name, below your name you can write in your address, and provide your phone number or email for us to contact you if we have any questions. If you cannot print your name and address, make sure your registration information is up to date. Click here to check your voter status. If you cannot sign your name, make a mark and have someone witness it. Your name must be clearly printed near the mark and the witness must sign his/her name as a witness. You must make a mark, having a power of attorney sign the envelope is not allowed.
If you are using your own envelope, sign your name and clearly print your name and address where you are registered to vote in Santa Cruz County on the outside of the envelope. If you cannot print your name and address, make sure your registration information is up to date. Click here to check your voter status. If you cannot sign your name, make a mark and have someone witness it. Your name must be clearly printed near the mark and the witness must sign his/her name as a witness. You must make a mark, having a power of attorney sign the envelope is not allowed.
If you don’t want your signature and personal information exposed on the outside of your envelope, use a second envelope and write "Official Ballot Enclosed" on the outside of your envelope.
Return your ballot
At a secure drop box – available 24/7 until 8pm Election Day
Return your ballot by mail - No postage required if you are using the envelope we sent you.
If you are using your own envelope you will need to affix postage and mail it to:

Your ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than December 14, 2021 to be considered received on time.
Return it in person before and including Election Day
You may personally drop it off at one of the locations below or you can have a someone you trust drop it off for you.

We will also have 2 voting locations open the following dates and times where voters can drop off their ballots:
- Saturday & Sunday, December 4 & 5: 9am to 5pm
- Monday, December 6: 8am to 5pm
- Tuesday, Election Day, December 7: 7am to 8pm.
